Bye-Election to the Council of States from Uttar Pradesh.

There is a casual vacancy in the Council of States from the State of Uttar Pradesh  occurred due to the resignation of a sitting member Shri Rashid Masood on 9th  March, 2012, whose term of office is expiring on 4th July, 2016. The Commission has decided to hold a Bye-election to the Council of States from Uttar Pradesh to fill up the said vacancy, in accordance with the following programme :- 1.       Issue of Notifications : 9th April, 2012(Monday) 2.       Last date of making nominations : 16th April, 2012(Monday) 3.       Scrutiny of nominations : 17th April, 2012 (Tuesday) 4.       Last date for withdrawal of candidature : 19th April, 2012(Thursday) 5.       Date of poll : 26th April, 2012 (Thursday) 6.       Hours of poll   : 9.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M 7.       Counting of Votes : 26th April, 2012 (Thursday) at 5.00 PM 8.       Date before which election shall be completed : 30th April, 2012 (Monday) Election Commission of India New Delhi, 02 April, 2012
